STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
Our purpose is to build a highly visible and active presence of the Democratic Party in North Mecklenburg County as a means to grow the Democratic electorate and encourage, support and elect Democratic candidates through community outreach, fundraising and volunteering.
OUR HISTORY
Founded in 2016 by Janice Lewis and Natasha Marcus, we are a sub-committee of the Mecklenburg County Democratic Party.  Our first meeting was held in March of 2016.
​In December 2016, we registered as a Democratic Party Committee with the NC Board of Elections. We currently maintain a database of over 600+ supporters.
OUR GOALS
  • Recruit and Support Democratic Candidates
  • Increase Democratic Voter Turnout in North Mecklenburg
  • Elect Democrats in North Mecklenburg
OUR MEETINGS
Our meetings are held on the first Thursday of every month and are open to all registered Democrats and Unaffiliated voters. (Voting membership is open to registered Democrats living in Mecklenburg County.)

OUR ACTIVITIES

  • Monthly meetings with occasional guest speakers, local elected officials and candidates for office. 
  • ​Coordinate and hold annual Precinct Organization Cluster Meetings
  • Create, produce and deliver Blue North Ballots​ during every election
  • Help Democratic candidates through the recruitment of volunteers
  • Hold voter registration events
  • Coordinate poll greeters during early voting and on Election Day
